Zontes ZT 703: the Chinese that bursts into the world of motorcycles

Zontes ZT 703: el chino que irrumpe con fuerza en el mundo de las motos

Did you catch the latest EICMA show in Milan? If you missed it, buckle up because I’m going to talk about a manufacturer that is making a lot of noise: Zontes. This player, whom we previously underestimated, is showing its teeth. With the urban trail ZT 703 F, the sporty ZT 703 RR, and the very attractive ZT 703 T, Zontes is not here to play. They are targeting major players like the Yamaha Tracer. Trust me, a battle is coming in the market.

These new bikes are not just pretty on the posters. In terms of performance, they could seriously shake up the competition. Let’s fire up the engine and see what they are about.

ZT 703 T: an impressive sport-GT

Zontes has done a great job with the design of its ZT 703 T. With its defined lines and aggressive look, it has a true “Transformer robot” vibe. And the die-cast aluminum chassis? It’s a spectacle in itself. Unlike the plastic fairings seen everywhere, this is solid and it shows.

Sure, the aluminum look divides opinions: some love it, others, like me, think it needs a little more to be completely flawless. But one thing must be acknowledged: it has presence and does not go unnoticed.

In terms of practicality: Zontes does not do things halfway

The ZT 703 T is a true Sport-GT at heart:

  • 17-inch rims with road tires: perfect for devouring curves.
  • Lowered seat: super comfortable for long rides.
  • Complete equipment: Zontes still keeps some secrets, but it seems well equipped.

However, regarding availability, patience will be required. There are talks of a release for late 2025 at the earliest. And the price? Expect at least €8,500, but Zontes promises to maintain an aggressive value-for-money relationship. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

An engine that takes your breath away

Behind its futuristic appearance, the ZT 703 T hides a jewel: a 699 cc inline three-cylinder with a classic stroke. In other words, it offers power:

  • 102 horsepower at 11,200 RPM. Enough to light up the asphalt.
  • 74.5 Nm of torque at 8,500 RPM. The recoveries promise to be very vigorous.

With a 20-liter tank, you have enough to cover a good distance before looking for a gas station. In terms of weight, it’s not the lightest on the market: 206 kg in running order. Nothing serious for a GT, but it’s good to know before placing an order.

ZT 703 F and RR: alternatives that make you salivate

Are you more into trails or sports? Zontes has thought of you:

The ZT 703 F: a road-oriented version that could be the surprise of 2025. With the same engine base and high-level equipment, it targets riders looking for versatility. If it comes out at around €8,000, it could shake up the competition.

The ZT 703 RR: it’s for those who love machines that respond both on the road and in style. This sporty model has already conquered many fans on social media. If you’re looking for a bike that has power and impressive aesthetics, it could be the one for you.

Zontes: a manufacturer on the rise

Honestly, Zontes is THE revelation of the moment. They finally dare to break the mold and challenge giants like Yamaha and Honda. The new ZT 703, especially the T, prove they are no longer just supporting players.

My only regret? There is no A2 version. With 102 horsepower, it’s too powerful for young permits. A version limited to 95 horsepower would have been perfect to expand their market. It’s a shame, but who knows, maybe they will consider it in the future.
