The mid-size trail segment is booming, and CFMOTO has just made waves with its new 800 MT-X. If you’re someone who enjoys getting your boots dirty on trails without sacrificing comfort on the road, get ready! This X version takes the concept of off-road adventure even further with upgrades aimed at enthusiasts of difficult terrains. What does this gem offer us? We’ll tell you everything!
An X version designed for offroad
CFMOTO understood that motorcyclists wanted an 800 MT with a greater focus on offroad. What’s the result? The X version has arrived, and it’s not here to play. Unlike other models in the range (Sport+ with 20% offroad, Explore with 30%), this new version is developed for 40% trails. Clearly, CFMOTO wants you to test it on rocky terrains.
The first thing that stands out: its suspensions. The brand has opted for a Yu’an fork with a diameter of 48 mm at the front and an adjustable rear monoshock for preload, compression, and rebound. As for the travel, it rises to 230 mm, which is 80 mm more than other models in the range. The ground clearance increases to 240 mm, a boost of 50 mm. This way, you can absorb impacts with ease.
To complete the package, the front wheel is 21 inches and the rear is 19 inches, a classic configuration for a trail designed for adventure. The seat rises to 870 mm, so beware if you’re a shorter rider. Add to this an elevated fender, a monoblock seat of the all-terrain type, and a renewed fairing, and you get a machine with a more aggressive look than ever!
Lighter, more manageable with an XXL tank for more autonomy
If you plan to travel far without worrying about gas stations, CFMOTO thought of you! Its tank of 22.5 liters, inspired by rally raid, outperforms the 19 liters of other versions. And for the more demanding, it’s possible to add an optional 8-liter tank. The autonomy promises to be quite comfortable, ideal for long off-road days.
The scale reads 198 kg dry, a significant weight reduction compared to other versions that reach 231 kg in working order. The brand has reduced around ten kilos, which makes a difference when handling a machine on difficult terrain. Less weight means more fun and, above all, greater ease in lifting the bike in case of a fall (we know it can happen!).
