Motos chinas en EICMA 2024: novedades que compiten con las grandes marcas

Chinese manufacturers are stepping on the gas to carve out a niche in European showrooms, and EICMA in Milan is no exception. With increasingly powerful engines, cutting-edge technology, and eye-catching designs, brands like CF Moto, QJ Motor, Voge, and Zontes are seriously approaching the giants of motorcycles. We take a look at their new offerings to see how they accelerate and aim to win over European motorcyclists with attractive prices and impressive performance.

Chinese Motorcycles Carve Out a Niche in the European Market

This year, at EICMA, Chinese manufacturers are playing in the big leagues with motorcycles that impress in terms of power and technology. Forget the time when these bikes were simply “small engines”. Today, Chinese brands are venturing into large displacements and reaching a technological level that meets the expectations of European motorcyclists. By 2025, they plan to compete in the “heavy” category. It can be said that the Chinese are truly finding their place in the market, backed by a solid network of importers and distributors.

CF Moto: A New Challenger for Triumph and Yamaha?

CF Moto has made a strong impact this year with a 675 cc three-cylinder engine. This engine powers two models: the sporty 675SR-R and the roadster 675NK. With 95 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and 70 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm, CF Moto is directly in the same league as Triumph and Yamaha, known for their powerful triples. KYB suspensions, J. Juan brakes, traction control, 5-inch connected TFT display that can be updated remotely… CF Moto shows that it knows how to attract demanding riders.

And that’s not all for CF Moto! The brand has also introduced a V4 engine concept that exceeds 210 horsepower. This version is not yet ready for the road (at least for now), but it reveals CF Moto’s ambitions: they clearly want to play in the big leagues. Wouldn’t you like to see how this beast performs on the road?

QJ Motor: From Small to Large Displacement, Increasing Power

QJ Motor has also pulled out all the heavy artillery this year with a 921 cc four-cylinder engine. This engine equips the SRK1000 roadster, a beast that delivers 163 horsepower at 13,600 rpm with a torque of 90 Nm at 11,000 rpm. With features like an adjustable Marzocchi inverted fork, a multi-link suspension, Brembo brakes, TPMS system, cruise control, ABS, and TCS, this roadster has everything to attract motorcyclists seeking performance and quality equipment. We’re looking forward to spring 2025 to see this machine in action on our roads.

But QJ Motor doesn’t stop at just one model. With its 699 cc three-cylinder engine, they are also offering two new bikes: the “Adventure” 703 F trail and the sporty 703 RR. By investing in the trail and mid-displacement sport segments, which are highly valued in Europe, QJ Motor wants to reach as many motorcyclists as possible. Additionally, they are already working on other models: a road trail and a sport roadster. QJ Motor is serious, and promises a lot.

Zontes: From Small Bike to Big Three-Cylinder

Until now, mainly known for their small displacements, Zontes has just taken a big step forward. The Chinese brand has unveiled a 699 cc three-cylinder engine that comes to several of its models. Various models, including the 703 F (an “Adventure” trail) and the 703 RR (a sports bike), benefit from this engine. The 703 F is expected to arrive early next year, while the sporty version, the 703 RR, should appear in the second half of 2025.

But Zontes isn’t stopping there. The brand plans two more models that will also adopt this three-cylinder engine: a sport roadster and a road trail. With this new engine, Zontes is clearly looking to make a place among the big players in the market. And according to the initial reactions, the brand could achieve it. The progress is enormous and year after year, Zontes is gaining credibility. By 2025, the Chinese brand could become a significant player in the motorcycle world in Europe.

Chinese Brands: The Future of Motorcycles?

Honestly, the improvement of Chinese brands is impressive. Gone are the clichés of a few years ago when their bikes were merely “low-cost” options. Now, they combine performance, technology, and design that hold up to scrutiny. Bikes like the 675SR-R or the SRK1000 have nothing to envy from the big names. With their high-level equipment and powerful engines, they target riders seeking quality without ignoring their budget.

For me, it’s good news. These bikes pressure established brands to renew themselves and offer new options, often more accessible. With more distributors arriving in the United States, I bet Chinese motorcycles will soon fill our garages. If you are looking for a bike that stands out, take a look at the Chinese novelties from the EICMA show. Who knows? Maybe your next ride will come straight from the Far East!
