Los defectos que debes conocer antes de comprar la Harley-Davidson S2 Mulholland

The electric motorcycles are entering the market at full speed, and Harley-Davidson does not want to be left behind. After launching LiveWire, its brand dedicated to electric motorcycles, the company has revealed a model that is already making headlines: the S2 Mulholland. Available in France, this cruiser with an elegant design has a starting price of around 20,000 euros. But, as always, there are some surprises and flaws to discover.
A look that impresses and an ecological conception
When looking at the S2 Mulholland, its style is immediately noticeable. The Flat Track spirit of the Del Mar model is gone; here we have a true cruiser, closer to what one expects from a Harley. It uses the same platform as the S2, but with some very well-thought-out modifications: a more rounded headlight, a cut seat, and a high handlebar for a straighter and more comfortable position.
Regarding materials, LiveWire bets on eco-responsibility: fenders made of biocomposite based on hemp, fairings made from recycled fishing nets, recyclable silicone seat. In short, a step towards cleaner manufacturing, and that is always appreciated!
Exceptional performance, but limited autonomy
As for the engine, we are talking about something powerful: 84 horsepower, 263 Nm of torque, and from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Weighing 196 kg, it is still quite light for a cruiser.
But the big downside is its autonomy. LiveWire claims 194 km in the city and only 118 km on the highway at 88 km/h. It is worth noting that if you want to travel long distances, you will have to plan stops. And regarding charging, it is not impressive: 5.9 hours to go from 20 to 80% on a standard outlet, or 78 minutes on fast charge.
In summary, it is perfect for a Sunday ride, but for a long journey, it can be problematic…
High price, but a smart move
With a price of 19,590 €, the S2 Mulholland is not cheap. But if we compare it with a gasoline cruiser from Harley, such as the Low Rider S at 23,490 €, the difference is smaller. Moreover, the Low Rider S is heavier and consumes fuel, while the LiveWire bets on ecology and low operating costs. However, for this price, we would have liked better autonomy and a faster charging time. Because in the end, paying almost 20,000 for a motorcycle that has to stop every 100 kilometers is not ideal…
