De lo retro a lo moderno: Mash reveals its K750 and GT750 at the Lyon Motorbike Show

The 2 Wheels Show in Lyon has always been an eagerly awaited event for all motorcycle enthusiasts, and this year, Mash has raised the bar. Although the brand is already well established with its iconic models such as the Seventy, X-Ride, and Six-Hundred, Mash has surprised visitors with two new machines: the K750 and the GT750. But that’s not all; these models mark a turning point in the brand’s direction, with a stylistic break and a strategic collaboration with Jinan Jedi Motorcycle, also known as JEDI. A sense of modernity permeates this French brand, and it doesn’t seem like it will stop anytime soon.
Mash: the end of retro, the beginning of modernity!
Mash has always been known in the motorcycle world for its retro bikes, with models that evoke the great days of the classic motorcycle. But with the K750 and the GT750, the brand seems to want to leave behind that image of vintage machines. Goodbye to the neo-retro style that has characterized Mash in recent years, and welcome to more modern and powerful models. The announcement of this change was made with great fanfare at the 2 Wheels Show, and the brand did not cease to impress. The K750 and the GT750 are nothing like what Mash offered before. These bikes look towards the future, with cleaner lines and a design clearly focused on performance.
The Mash x JEDI collaboration
One of the highlights of these new models is the collaboration between Mash and Jinan Jedi Motorcycle, better known as JEDI. This strategic partnership does not hide its ambitions: Mash intends to shift towards more modern machines, with a higher displacement and technical features that can compete with the major brands in the market. In the long term, Mash could even abandon its neo-retro models to fully adopt the production of JEDI motorcycles. It’s a radical change for the French brand, but also a great opportunity to reinvent itself and attract a new audience.
The technical details of the K750 and the GT750
Now let’s get serious: the technical features of the two new models. The K750 and the GT750 are not just bikes with a futuristic appearance; they also have a lot to offer in terms of performance. Both bikes are equipped with a 730 cm3, DOHC inline twin engine, which develops just under 75 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. It’s not a power monster, but it’s more than sufficient for motorcycles in this category. This engine is liquid-cooled, ensuring better thermal management, ideal for long riding sessions.
In terms of suspension, Mash has gone all out with adjustable components, allowing customization of the riding experience according to each rider’s preferences. The Michelin tires, known for their quality, ensure excellent grip, and the Brembo four-piston calipers offer braking power that leaves nothing to be desired. As for the TFT instrument panel, it adds a touch of modernity to the set, with a clear reading of essential information for the rider. And although these bikes are a bit heavier than one might expect, at 217 kg for the K750 and 275 kg for the GT750, they are not lacking in character.
Mash: a long-term strategy
But Mash does not stop here. The brand’s objective is clear: adapt to new market trends while maintaining a part of its identity. If the K750 and the GT750 are just the beginning of this evolution, the brand plans to gradually incorporate JEDI motorcycles into its catalog by 2026, eventually entrusting its entire production to the Chinese manufacturer. A bold strategy, but one that seems logical given a market increasingly oriented towards modern and high-performance motorcycles.
