The price and range are the two most important elements when choosing an electric car. Other criteria, such as onboard space, load capacity, or design, are much less important to most potential buyers. However, finding the electric car that offers the best market compromise between theoretical range and price is not easy
That is why we have chosen two models of this type of car that stand out from the rest to help you choose.
The Model Y Propulsion
It is important to know that the market for electric cars is constantly evolving and manufacturers of this type of vehicle are trying to adapt to the demands of each customer. Knowing the range that a plug-in car provides is necessary, and one that allows covering a greater distance at an attractive cost will convince multiple buyers looking for an electric vehicle. The electric SUV market has been turned upside down with the arrival of the Tesla Model Y Propulsion, with a base price of 49,990 euros. The price can be reduced to 47,990 euros thanks to the current ecological bonus, which is still a high price considering the WLTP range of up to 455 km. This model remains more interesting than the Model 3 for the time being
However, as is customary with Elon Musk cars, long-distance driving is a mere formality with the Model Y Propulsion. In fact, the brand offers a network of superchargers that will allow you to cross Europe without worries, and if that were not enough, third-party networks will also be accessible without problems. What makes it a great option for families who want to carry a lot of things is the enormous trunk of 854 liters in the rear
Moreover, what continues to be a benchmark in driver assistance today is the Autopilot. An autonomous driving option is also offered, but we do not necessarily recommend it, as it is limited in the old continent
In conclusion, the productivity and efficiency of Tesla’s powertrain is quite remarkable, as with a battery of only 60 kWh, the manufacturer proposes a range of over 455 km. This can only be achieved with a much larger battery.
The MG ZS EV Model
In several tests, this model made a strong impression with its 2021 restyled version. It is true that for its cost, which challenges the entire competition, it offers high performance. In fact, the version with a 73 kWh battery is characterized by:
- a starting price of 36,990 euros,
- and a range of 440 km in the WLTP cycle.
The final price to pay is 30,990 euros and its cost allows for a maximum green bonus. This is undoubtedly the best value for money in the current electric vehicle market, something that is not easy to achieve given the existing competition today. Inside, you will find:
- a very large trunk due to the model’s size,
- a generous amount of onboard space,
- more than adequate interior quality.
On the other hand, there is a small drawback in the driving aids, which are characterized by more or less low efficiency. If lane maintenance is an important criterion for you, it is better to move on, because the lane maintenance of this model is not very convincing. Apart from these details, we agree that the MG ZS EV is an excellent electric vehicle for the price it is being sold.
