Calificaciones MotoGP: Álex Márquez wins, Marc Márquez and Bagnaia fall behind!
The tests of the Thai Grand Prix have left us with adrenaline at its peak! Alex Márquez has made his mark by setting the best time in the qualifications. His brother Marc did not fall behind, and our Frenchies, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco, secured their place in Q2. But while some shine, others face difficulties, like Francesco Bagnaia, who will have to go through Q1.
Alex Márquez, the king of the qualifiers
If you still doubted Alex Márquez‘s talent, this qualifying session has left you speechless. The younger brother of Marc clocked a 1:29.020 on his Gresini GP24, leaving everyone behind. And this morning, it was his older brother who took the lead with the official Ducati.
We know that the Ducati is a formidable machine, but seeing Alex dominate like this shows he is full of confidence. He has shown impressive things in the pre-season, and now he proves he is ready to compete. Although Marc Márquez remains the better-known of the two brothers, Alex seems determined to make a name for himself.
Quartararo and Zarco in Q2: the Blues deliver!
Cocorico! Our two French representatives managed to go directly into Q2. Fabio Quartararo, despite a low-powered Yamaha, fought for a brilliant 8th position. It’s not nirvana, but he showed he can compete. Meanwhile, Johann Zarco had a tough time, but achieved a well-deserved 10th position.
The surprising thing is that Zarco had the best time with 13 minutes to go. But the level is so close that everything can change in an instant. Fortunately, he maintained his position in the top 10 and will be able to aim for something great in Q2.
Bagnaia in trouble
While some celebrate their qualifications, others are worried. Francesco Bagnaia, the reigning double world champion, had a complicated day. In the morning, he got lost in the adjustments of his Ducati, and in the afternoon, Franco Morbidelli hindered him by slowing him down on his last fast lap. Result: no top 10 for Pecco and straight to Q1!
It’s crucial not to waste time on Saturday morning. Q1 is filled with dangerous riders like Maverick Viñales, Brad Binder, and Jack Miller. One mistake and Bagnaia could get eliminated, facing a great risk.
Brotherly duel between the Márquez
We can’t deny it, watching Alex and Marc Márquez fight for the pole is pure spectacle. The two brothers have never been in a direct confrontation with competitive machines at the same time. But now that Marc is with Ducati and Alex is progressing quickly, we could see an explosive duel in the race. Pedro Acosta (KTM), Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), and Joan Mir (Honda) are not to be overlooked either, but it must be said that all eyes will be on the Márquez this weekend.
