Here’s news that will surely cause a stir: The Anglo-Moroccan company Atlas E-Mobility is developing a revolutionary electric car. And that’s not all: it will be sold in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. We tell you all about it.
Over the years, many manufacturers have specialized in electric cars, but this is the first time a project is being launched on African soil.
And rightly so: Atlas E-Mobility Group, a Moroccan company based in London, aims to revolutionize the electric car world with its first 100% electric vehicle manufactured in Africa.
Atlas: the new reference in high-end electric vehicles?
Atlas’s ambition is clear: to develop high-end electric cars with features and functions worthy of Tesla models. Like the American giant, Atlas plans to create its own fast-charging network which will spread throughout Morocco in the near future.
Atlas is taking a different strategy to attract future users. What’s its concept? To offer a vehicle customizable according to the real needs of the customer, equipped only with the requested features and technologies. The result: low-cost vehicles that do not compromise on quality or high-end features.
The first model from Atlas will be an electric SUV, of which an illustration has already been shown. How much will it cost? Between 45,000 and 55,000 euros. It should compete with the Tesla Model Y, the BMW X1, and the Mercedes EQA. For now, the information remains provisional, but we already know that this little gem is expected to launch in 2026.
Atlas: a launch in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East
Atlas E-Mobility has a clear action plan: to deploy its brand in Morocco first, before venturing to conquer other markets in Africa, Europe, and even the Middle East.
On the economic front, Atlas is opting for a simple yet effective method: reducing costs thanks to Moroccan labor, which is 20% cheaper than European production. If we add to this the reliance on external suppliers recognized for the quality and reliability of their components, that’s it!
Atlas does not intend to stop there, and also wants to advocate for a responsible carbon footprint. How do we do this? By using renewable energies, which already account for more than half of Moroccan production. The icing on the cake is that energy costs are also lower in the Maghreb countries, which will contribute to the development of this new manufacturer, which has everything to become a true African pride.
